Try It Tuesday this time is all about Winter. I can't hardly wait for it to snow here! We got a small taste of it on the 10th of this month, but it melted the next day. I was disappointed, but the melt wasn't unexpected, I have to admit. November 10th is pretty early to begin the snowy season.
When I was growing up, we had this one winter - I think I was in 4th grade - when we had 8 feet of snow! It was so much fun. We made tunnels and jumped off the roof into it (yah, don't do that, k?). It was a blast. But it was also boring when we couldn't go out and play in it. It is dangerous stuff, after all! :) But for a kid, it doesn't matter how dangerous it is - just that you get to go out and play in it when you discover there's no school because the buses can't get onto the roads. Hehehe.
Anyway, Winter Scenes can be tough because you have to figure out how to make the snow stay white! I cheat a little when I'm doing snow and I use acrylics to put my snow in after I'm all finished up with the rest of the scene. I don't know if it's really cheating, because that's the way Ma Nature does it - snow after everything is all "painted in."
Good luck!
